A grey Asprey handbag owned by former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher has been bought by Amsterdam’s specialist handbag museum at a Christie’s auction in London. According to a Christie’s report on the auction, the bag sold for £16,250 (over €22,000). It had a guide price of between £1,000 and £1,500. The bag, one of several at the auction, was bought with the help of the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and the Zabawas charitable foundation, the museum said in a statement.
