chanel-lego-clutchVintage toys often are re-purposed into new and true art forms. Interesting collaborative efforts, mainly in the areas of craft, fashion, art and jewelry design, come to mind.

To make colorful necklaces, a designer strung prefabricated necklace, rope or chain link through a group of predrilled Crayola crayon and colored pencils. Colored pencils also can be chopped up and strung like small-scale beads to make similar items.

Lego toys form another unusual toy-inspired work of art into high-fashion, pricey couture and jewelry pieces. For instance, Chanel debuted clutch purses in bright, colorful, geometric shapes just like original Lego building blocks. True works of art, they earned price tags ranging from $9,900 to $11,000.
