19th C. Beaded Purse

Beaded purse with stylized floral wrap-around design. Sterling frame. Inscribed on frame "Elizabeth Benedict 1798". Initials "AMS" on front of frame.

Leslie Shay's book 19th Century Beaded Bags (page 58) states bee/black bags of the 1830's were revived in the 1860's with additional colors including white and grey.
