Pierrot Metal Purse

Pierrot is a stock character of pantomime in Commedia dell'Arte.  Today we see Pierrot in the sad clowns of the post-modern era. Pierrot is often depicted on purses from the 1850s through the 1920s. As we finish carnival season in Italy and New Orleans, it's appropriate that we showcase the clown Pierrot.
