Rare Micro Petit Point Winter/Summer

This is a petit point purse from Maria Stransky made in 40 shades of grey with black. In the front a summer scene and on the back a winter scene. Leather lining.

Very hard to make in only shades of grey instead of multi-colors.

From the website: Maria Stransky’s petit-point factory was founded in 1932. Maria Stransky makes a variety of products in its own embroidery workshop in the center of Vienna. Classic motifs and images are produced from a palette of more than 800 color tones with up to 2.500 stitches per square inch – thus very easily distinguishable from machine-made products. The petit points adorn a wide range of exclusively hand-made toilet bags, purses, bags, and pictures. Common to all Maria Stransky embroideries is the extremely fine workmanship, with their elaborate shading which make images appear as if painted.
